Oppo Pad Air 2

Today was an exciting day for Oppo fans and enthusiasts as the brand has unveiled a set of new products. While most of the audience was interested in the brand new Oppo Reno 11 series, Oppo also unveiled a new slate for tablet enthusiasts. The Oppo Pad Air2 is the company’s new budget offering for large-sized smart devices. It’s a rebadged OnePlus Pad Go, which has been renamed for the Chinese market. Even the look is the same, apart from the obvious change to Oppo’s branding. The tablet is a decent offering with a large display and a huge battery. Let’s dive into its specifications.

My Brief Description and Insight About the Oppo Pad Air 2

So far, we can describe the Oppo Pad Air2 as a great tablet for productivity and education. It boasts a large display, a huge battery and has unique ColorOS features to improve usability and enhance productivity. Based on my experience with tablets, the Oppo Pad Air2 stands as a decent affordable tablet for the most varied needs. It can be decent for study, work, and for consuming multimedia content like watching movies, streams, and related content.

Oppo Pad Air2 Key Specifications and Features – A Good Option with a Huge Display and Battery

Oppo decided to not disclose the full specs sheet of the Oppo Pad Air2 at launch (China Telecom did though). However, we can share its specifications since it’s a rebadged OnePlus Pad Go. Putting the rebranding-treatment aside, the device actually stands as a decent upgrade over the first Oppo Pad Air. This device has an 11.4-inch LCD screen with a 7:5 aspect ratio. The resolution is 2,408 x 1,720 pixels. It’s a 10-bit panel with a smooth refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. The display is one of the key selling points of this tablet. It’s good for watching movies and multimedia in general, it’s also decent for productivity and work-related stuff. Oppo in fact brings some nice features with the ColorOS for Pad.

The new ColorOS For Pad brings a customizable taskbar, smart file galleries, and some multi-finger gestures. Oppo advertises the Oppo Pad Air2 as a tablet for a younger audience, and the large display and software features may be quite appealing to users. It is worth noting that this is still a budget-oriented tablet, and therefore, it does not include mobile connectivity. It is a Wi-Fi-only tablet. In terms of optics, the tablet comes with an 8 MP front-facing camera and an 8 MP rear camera.

Decent Audio, and Enough Performance for Basic Tasks

Besides the Display, the Tablet also takes care of the audio experience with Four Speakers offering 86 dB loudness and Dolby Atmos tuning. Users can expect an immersive audio experience with this tablet. Keeping the lights on, we have a huge 8,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The battery can provide decent endurance even with a large display. Under the hood, the tablet carries the MediaTek Helio G99 which is decent for basic app usage and some moderate gaming. More graphic-demanding games may require some adjustments to the settings. Overall, you will still get decent performance with this tablet. It is paired with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM depending on the variant.
