Xiaomi 14 Pro Unlikely to Go Global as Suggested by HyperOS Development Progress

Xiaomi 14 Pro

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro in China at the end of October. They were the very first devices to debut with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And even though more devices with the latest flagship SoC have launched, the anticipation of the Xiaomi 14 devices in the global market is still on.

Well, if you’re outside of China and can’t wait to get your hands on the Xiaomi 14 Pro, there’s a piece of bad news for you. Things are looking good for the standard device. But, the Pro variant may not make its way outside the domestic market. At least, that’s what the software development progress for HyperOS (the custom Android OS for the smartphone) is suggesting.

More About the Global Launch of Xiaomi 14 Pro

Xiaomi’s official server suggests that Xiaomi 14 Pro will stay exclusive to China. For those who missed our original coverage, it’s the brand’s current premium smartphone. Featuring a 2K screen, 120W fast charging, and a robust camera setup, it’s a proper successor to the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

But while the predecessor made it to the international market, the successor likely won’t. According to the official server, the team is no longer developing HyperOS global ROM for the 14 Pro. But, the internal testing build of the standard variant is still on track.

This information from the official server suggests that the Xiaomi 14 Pro won’t be debuting in the international markets. If you’re wondering why, Xiaomi probably wants the upcoming 14 Ultra to be more attractive in international regions.

Without the Xiaomi 14 Pro in the global lineup, the difference between the base and Ultra variant will widen up. But again, Xiaomi hasn’t announced anything about it. So, there’s still a chance of 14 Pro debuting in the global regions. We will update you when more information is available.
