Honor launched its Honor X50 series during the summer of 2023. Officially, the company has three variants in the lineup and the Honor X50 GT will soon join them. The new smartphone will be revealed on January 4. Interestingly, the new GT variant has a similar design to the Honor X50. The main difference is the presence of a white color option, a yellow racing stripe, and a classic black paint job. Today, Honor confirmed the phone’s launch and also shared some details about the phone’s main camera which will have a 108 MP resolution.

Gizchina News of the week

The Honor X50 GT will feature a 108 MP camera with a 1/1.67″ sensor and an f/1.75 aperture in front. Interestingly, this is described at the phone’s rear and it’s visible on the white version of the smartphone. The sensor should be a Samsung HM6 sensor, which is often seen in mid-range smartphones. That’s the same sensor inside the Honor X50 and the Honor Magic6 Lite or Honor X9b. Now, it seems that Honor will use it again for the Honor X50 GT.

The new Honor X50 GT comes to emphasize the GT series and make it the pinnacle of the “extreme pursuit of performance”. According to Honor CMO Harrison Zhang, the new smartphone will offer excellent performance and great image quality. The phone will also come with improved heat dissipation, a more responsive screen, and other improvements that are seen in the mid-range smartphone lineup. The pricing of the smartphone as well as the chipset powering it remains a mystery. However, the phone is a mid-range chipset so we should expect something on that range.

The event is scheduled for January 4 at 19:30 local time. Therefore, we expect Honor to use the next seven days to tease the release of the smartphone.
