Enhancement in MagicOS 8.0

MagicOS 8.0 offers enhancements in four domains: intelligent networking, efficiency, confidentiality and safety, and visual appeal. Honor has branded its intent-based user interface as Magic Portal. Put another way, it’s a shortcut suggestion tool that enables users to quickly swipe between different app services.

Over 100 well-known applications in China were already supported by Magic Portal during the launch. Applications for travel, productivity, social media, search, entertainment, commerce, and eating are among the many categories in which they fall. Baidu Map, Amap, Didi, Bilibili, Douyin, Youku, and Alipay are a few of the most popular applications.

Honor’s MagicLM

With seven billion parameters, MagicLM works at the platform level, utilizing the device’s data processing to improve privacy. Honor and Qualcomm have collaborated to ensure seamless and effective operation on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform. In addition to its typical natural language understanding features, MagicLM can create films and is the first platform in the market to let users find a certain frame inside a video. Additionally, it is connected with YoYO, the voice assistant.

In addition, Honor introduced the LLM Ecosystem Programme in China. This project encourages MagicOS to include vertical and cloud-based AI models. In the first half of 2024, partners including Amap, Baidu, and Umetrip will introduce their experiences.

Other Improvements in MagicOS 8.0

Cross-device functionality is made possible via MagicRing, which was included in MagicOS 7.0. Connections from point-to-point networks to fully linked networks are now supported by this functionality. Its speed has now improved by 500% and is 25% more power-efficient. Calls, alerts, files, files, program windows, and images can all move across devices with ease thanks to its eight transmission channels.
