Samsung Rolls Out One UI 6.1: Find Out If Your Device Made the Cut

One UI 6.1

Samsung has rolled out its latest major update, One UI 6.1, for certain Galaxy devices. Here’s the complete list of phones and tablets receiving the update.

New Features of One UI 6.1

One UI 6.1 marks Samsung’s second update based on Android 14. While there aren’t many visual changes, there are some new features and adjustments included in the update.

The major highlight revolves around Galaxy AI, Samsung’s collection of AI-powered features integrated throughout the software. Several of these features are embedded within Samsung apps, while Google’s Circle to Search functionality can be accessed through a long-press of the home button or gesture bar. Here’s the complete list of Galaxy AI features:

  • Circle to Search
  • Chat Assist
  • Interpreter
  • Live Translate
  • Note Assist
  • Transcript Assist
  • Browsing Assist
  • Generative Edit
  • Edit Suggestion
  • Instant Slow-Mo
  • Generative Wallpaper
  • Photo Ambient Wallpaper

However, it’s worth noting that certain features may vary depending on the device. For instance, Photo Ambient Wallpaper is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series, and Instant Slow-Mo is not supported on the Galaxy S23 FE. Likewise, Galaxy S22 devices may lack a couple of features, and devices from 2021 received minimal AI enhancements.

In addition to the AI enhancements, other feature changes in One UI 6.1 include the removal of Samsung’s three-area gesture navigation and the introduction of a new “Battery Protection” feature. These updates are likely to be available on devices that do not receive Galaxy AI features.

Samsung Galaxy Devices that have Received One UI 6.1 Update

There are two main groups of devices with One UI 6.1. Some have AI features, while others do not. Below is a list of Galaxy devices that have received the One UI 6.1 update. Note that each device will receive its individual update separately. This means some devices will receive the update earlier than others. It is also worth noting that region plays a significant role when it comes to update rollout dates.

Is your Galaxy device Likely to Receive One UI 6.1?

Samsung hasn’t provided clear details about its plans for One UI 6.1. Since this update isn’t a major Android upgrade, there’s no roadmap available. There have been concerns about whether older and more affordable devices will receive it, especially because of its strong focus on AI.

Samsung seems to be gradually rolling out One UI 6.1 across almost all its devices. Recent “flagship” models are receiving AI features, while other devices are mainly getting bug fixes and small improvements in the 6.1 update.

If your Galaxy device has already received the One UI 6.0 with Android 14, it’s likely to receive the One UI 6.1 update in the near future. So, just keep your fingers cross and wait for further details in the coming months. Samsung may add a couple of devices to the update list and yours may be part.
