Oppo has just announced the Reno14 and Reno14 Pro smartphones in China. These two mid-range phones are packed with interesting features, especially for people who enjoy recording videos or gaming. Both phones are built for performance and have large batteries, powerful processors, and high-quality cameras.
Reno14 Pro has four 50MP cameras and a new chip
The Reno14 Pro is the more advanced of the two models. It comes with four 50MP cameras. On the back, there’s a main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an ultra-wide lens with autofocus, and a 3.5x periscope zoom lens with OIS. The selfie camera is also 50MP and has a wide 90° field of view.
You can record 4K video at 60 frames per second using both the front and rear cameras. The rear cameras can even do this with Oppo’s special stabilization turned on. The front camera does 4K 60fps without stabilization or 1080p 30fps with it.
Designed for live streaming and gaming
Oppo says the Reno14 Pro is made for people who do live broadcasts. The phone supports up to 5 hours of live streaming on a full charge. For gamers, it can handle 8 hours of gameplay. It also has a feature that records the last 30 seconds of gameplay, even if you press record too late.
To support long sessions, Oppo has built an external cooler and a large 20,000mAh power bank. The phone has three microphones for better voice clarity and background noise reduction.
Large battery and fast charging
The Reno14 Pro has a big 6,200mAh battery — the largest ever in a Reno phone. It supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone is also fairly slim at 7.48mm thick (7.58mm for some colors) and weighs 201g.
Reno14 has fewer features but stays powerful
The regular Reno14 is a bit smaller and lighter. It has a 6.59-inch screen compared to the Pro’s 6.83-inch display. Both screens support 120Hz refresh rates and use Oppo’s Crystal Shield Glass for protection.
The Reno14 has a 6,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging but no wireless option. It also uses the Dimensity 8350 chip, which is still powerful. This chip has eight cores and a Mali-G615 GPU.
Camera-wise, the Reno14 also has a 50MP main and a 50MP periscope lens. But its ultra-wide camera is only 8MP. Like the Pro, it has a 50MP front camera.
Durability and underwater modes
Both phones are water and dust resistant with IP68 and IP69 ratings. They also include special underwater photo and video modes, with support for 4K video at 30fps underwater.
