The rumors about Xiaomi developing a mobile chipset for its smartphones have been floating in the past few years. This year, all of a sudden, the company surprised everyone with the launch of its in-house Xring O1 chipset. The new chipset will make its glorious debut very soon with the new Xiaomi 15S Pro. According to the first benchmarks, the chipset will be comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which puts it in the flagship territory.
Xiaomi 15S Pro pops out on Geekbench
Xiaomi isn’t playing games with the Xring 01. It’s not taking the route that Google took with its Tensor lineup. The company’s in-house chip is here to compete in the flagship territory with cutting-edge tech and performance. The Xring 01 is fabbed on a 2nd-gen 3nm node. The hardware remains a mystery, but the leaks suggest 1 x ARM Cortex-X925 prime core, three ARM Cortex-A725 performance cores, and 4 x ARM Cortex-A520 efficiency cores for the CPU.
The Leaked Benchmark Shows Promising Performance with the Xring 01
The reliable leaksters @UniverseIce and @Jukanlosreve point to Geekbench results from the Xiaomi 25042PN24C. Some sources claim that the phone is the Xiaomi 15S Pro, which will replace the Xiaomi 15 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
An interesting aspect is in the results. With a mid-9,000 multi-core score and high-2,000 to low-3,000 single-core scores, the Xring 01 would sit slightly behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite and slightly ahead of the Dimensity 9400. What is relevant here is that, at least on paper, the chipset is already among the two relevant forces in the mobile CPU segment.
As per Geekbench, the Xring O1 has a 10-core CPU instead of the usual 8-core architecture. Of course, that could be a mistake with Geekbench failing to identify the new chip. The clock speeds are also quite impressive with a 3.9GHz for one of the performance clusters. For comparison, the Dimensity 9400+ reaches 3.73 GHz.
As for the GPU, the new SoC is listed with the Immortalis-G925 instead of an Imagination design. Of course, we will need to wait for confirmation in this regard.
Xiaomi has a big event scheduled for May 22, next Thursday. The event should present us the Xiaomi 15S pro, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and the Xiaomi YU7. It should also serve to debut the Xring 01 chipset and give us a glimpse of the future for Xiaomi flagships.
