The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is now available in many countries. It launched just a few days ago, and it’s already turning heads. Samsung calls it more than just a design achievement. They say it solves several long-standing smartphone problems.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is incredibly thin—just 5.8mm. It also weighs only 163 grams. Even so, it includes a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a powerful 200MP camera. Fitting these into such a small body took serious engineering.

The phone’s frame is made from strong titanium, just like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. On the front, there’s a large 6.7-inch LTPO display. It’s protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which is currently only used on this model. The back is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added durability.

The Engineering Behind Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Galaxy S25 Edge

Inside, the real innovation begins. Samsung created a new mounting system to arrange the internal parts. This system allows components to be placed with 0.1mm accuracy. It took many design tries to get everything just right.

The camera also got a big upgrade in design. Samsung made the 200MP camera module thinner by over 10%. They did this by improving the autofocus and image stabilization hardware. A special two-layer camera housing also helps reduce the camera bump.

Cooling such a slim phone is tricky. Samsung added a larger vapor chamber—10% bigger than the one in the Galaxy S25+. They also introduced a new “hole structure” inside the frame. This design allows better heat transfer from the processor to the vapor chamber. A custom thermal interface helps cool other components too.

But how well does this system work under heavy use? Samsung says it performs well. However, early tests suggest the phone still gets warm. In long performance tests, the Galaxy S25+ actually stays cooler and performs better.

Even with that downside, the Galaxy S25 Edge is a big step forward. It shows what’s possible when design meets innovation. It may not be perfect, but it’s one of the most advanced and compact smartphones available today.
