There’s still a corner of the smartphone market that wants big specs in smaller phones. And with the OnePlus 13s, we’re finally getting closer to a real answer. Just not everywhere.
Unveiled exclusively for India, the OnePlus 13s is a rare breed: a compact flagship that doesn’t sacrifice on power. Its 6.32-inch body houses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” chip, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It weighs only 185g and is narrower than both the Pixel 9 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro—yet somehow fits a 5,850mAh battery. That’s not a typo.
Power and Performance, Without the Bulk
Despite its size, the 13s punches hard. You’re getting 80W SuperVOOC charging, and a new Bypass Charging feature that runs the phone off wall power to reduce battery wear. It can run BGMI at 120fps for over 7 hours—without dropping frames or overheating, thanks to a clever vapor chamber and rear-panel cooling.
The display? A bright LTPO OLED panel with adaptive refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz, 10-bit color, and Dolby Vision. Peak brightness hits 1,600 nits, while it drops as low as 1.1 nit at night. Subtle touch, but welcome.
Cameras, AI, and That Missing Slider
There’s a dual camera setup on the back: a 50MP main (Sony LYT-700) and a 50MP 2x telephoto (Samsung JN5), both capable of 4K/60fps with Dolby Vision. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus—a rarity, even in this price range.
The Alert Slider is gone, replaced by the new Plus Button, which can launch an AI assistant, toggle sound profiles, or save content to “Mind Space.” It’s a rebranded 13T, essentially, but with deeper AI integration and local flair. Other perks? Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC support, NFC, 5.5G connectivity, and even an IR blaster. OnePlus also throws in AI VoiceScribe, which can transcribe and translate content live, even in YouTube or WhatsApp calls. That’s… actually useful.
The OnePlus 13s starts at ₹54,999 for 12/256GB. It’s available in Green Silk, Pink Satin, and Black Velvet—with pre-orders open now, shipping June 12.
