vivo has launched the T4 Ultra, the latest addition to the T4 series, as the flagship model in the series. In order to merit its “Ultra” badge, this phone is fitted with flagship-quality hardware, especially in terms of cameras and chipsets—features not commonly associated with its price segment.
vivo T4 Ultra Brings Flagship-Level Features in Midrange Segment
The T4 Ultra is running the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. The processor, present in high-end phones like the vivo X100s Pro, holds gigantic performance advantages. Meanwhile, the earlier released T4x runs the Dimensity 7300, while the standard T4 has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Both of these phones also feature entry-level 50MP cameras with small sensors and minimal support for auxiliary cameras.
The T4 Ultra’s main camera sports a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor (1/1.56″), an f/1.88 lens, and optical image stabilization (OIS). But the real killer feature is its periscope telephoto module—the first one in its category. This 50MP periscope lens is based on the IMX882 sensor (1/1.95″) and features 3x optical zoom and up to 10x telemacro. Video stabilization is augmented by OIS and electronic image stabilization (EIS). An 8MP ultra-wide sensor and Aura Light complete the rear configuration, with the front being handled by a 32MP selfie camera.
vivo T4 Ultra Packs Dimensity 9300+, 50MP Periscope Camera, and 120Hz OLED Display
Despite having the smallest screen in the series, the Ultra’s 6.67-inch OLED display is the finest. It comes with quad-curved edges, 1260p+ resolution, 10-bit color depth, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It boasts incredible brightness levels—5,000 nits peak brightness. There is even an under-display optical fingerprint reader.
The battery on the Ultra is smaller than on its siblings. It packs a 5,500mAh battery—smaller than the T4x’s 7,300mAh and the T4’s 6,500mAh batteries—but speedy 90W charging speeds, matching the T4.
It is thinner and lighter at 7.43mm thickness and 192g weight (193g for the Phoenix Gold model). Also, it does have glass back over plastic but only low-moderate IP64 ingress protection.
The Ultra comes in 8/256GB, 12/256GB, and 12/512GB with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It runs FuntouchOS 15 (Android 15) and provides two OS updates and three years of security patches.
The T4 Ultra will be available via vivo India, Flipkart, and offline retailers. Sales start on June 18. The vivo T4 Ultra costs $445 for the 8GB/256GB model, $470 for 12GB/256GB, and $490 for 12GB/512GB.
