First PlayStation 5 issues: a strange bug prevents downloading games

PS5

The Sony PlayStation 5 went on sale just a few days ago; but that was enough to get us into trouble. Some users have encountered a software bug that prevents them from downloading already purchased games and applications. The bottom line is that when the desired content is added to the download list, a hang occurs (an error or an endless message “In the download queue”), which cannot be overcome by either canceling the download or restarting it. Moreover, the console sees the game in the Library app; but in the PS Store, it offers to buy the game again.

The problem has affected games designed specifically for the PlayStation 5. For example, users complain about a bug when trying to download Сall Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. There are reports of similar issues with other major games and the Disney + app. The only solution at this stage is to completely reset the console to factory settings; which will destroy not only the games already downloaded under the PS4 compatibility program, but also the saved games from them. Sony has not yet commented on this situation. Obviously, it already knows about the problem and a patch is on the way. We hope that by the time the PS5 is released in all markets, it will have already been resolved.

Sony PlayStation 5 is caught overheated in a retail store

The waiting period is coming to an end, as buyers have found various stores in which they can order the Sony Playstation 5, in order to get the next generation of the game console. In the countries of the first wave, the delivery of pre-ordered consoles has started on November 12. Even before the start of sales, the console was in short supply, but perhaps you really shouldn’t rush to buy.

Recently, we can see the Sony PlayStation 5 live only at the exhibition stands of some of the largest offline stores in the United States. A number of users took advantage of this opportunity, and one of them even managed to capture the moment when the console issued a message about overheating and the need to reboot to allow the console to cool down.

Gizchina News of the week

PlayStation 5 cooling system

Many managed to interpret the incident as confirmation of a problem with the cooling outlet in the Sony PlayStation 5. But there is a possibility that we are not dealing with a manufacturer’s failure, but with the fact that the console worked in unfavorable conditions. The photo indicates that the console is in an enclosed glass, where there is not enough space for hot air to escape. It could be this that provoked the overheating of the console.

Recall that to get rid of heat, the Sony PlayStation 5 is equipped with a 120 mm cooler, which is responsible for cooling both sides of the console. How effective it is in real life? we will learn from the first customer reviews, which may appear at the end of next week.

Interestingly, earlier, according to one of the insiders, who managed to check the temperature regime of the three consoles PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. According to him, at peak load, the PlayStation 5 heats up to 65 °C. And this is the worst result among all three consoles.
