Big news may be on the way for fans
of
Google. A new leak says the
next
Pixel 11 series could come
with a brand-new security chip dubbed Titan M3. If true, this may push the
phone into a new class of safe use. According to
Mystic Leaks (on Telegram), the new security chip
will sit in the soon-to-be-shipped Tensor
G6 chip.
From
Titan M to M3
Back in 2018, Google gave the Pixel 3 its own security chip, called
Titan M. Over time, this grew into Titan M2, built into the Tensor chips. Now,
Titan M3 may take that role. The leak says the chip has the code name “Google
Epic,” with a firmware name of “longjing.” While those names may not mean much
to most, the aim is clear: boost security, protect PIN and passwords as well as
payment data. This feature also checks that the phone boots in a clean and safe
state each time you turn it on.
How
Titan Keeps Data Safe
Titan is built on a RISC-V base.
This lets it run key safe tasks on its own, cut off from the main OS. That
split is key. If the main OS is hit by bad code, Titan can still guard the most
key data. It also works with a tool known as KeyMint, once called Strongbox
Keymaster. This team-up helps keep pay apps like Google Pay in a safe zone. If
Titan M3 does add new guard tools, the Pixel 11 line may set a new bar for safe
phones.
A
New Chip, A New Edge
The Pixel 11 line is also set to
gain from a big shift in chip build. Google has moved its chip work from Samsung to TSMC. The Tensor G6 may use a 2nm build, which could mean less
heat and less drain on the battery. That mix of power and safe tech may give
the next Pixel a strong edge. If the leaks are true, the Pixel 11 may not just
be smart. It may be one of the safest phones you can buy.
