Huawei is ready to distribute the July 2019 security patches: all the fixes in detail

As the beginning of each month, even in July, Google promptly released the latest security patches for Android. It's available now for the Pixel smartphones but also making them available to other manufacturers. So that they can gradually deploy them on their devices. Huawei responded immediately, communicating the details of the fixes it will release in the coming weeks.

These are security adjustments to the operating system level, kernel, and drivers. As usual, the update will not bring tangible news to users. But will allow them to sleep peacefully because they have protection from the latest cybersecurity and privacy threats.

In particular, Huawei has announced that it has resolved 6 critical and 13 high-level problems and vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities are part of the CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) list. The update will be released soon. Starting from the most recent devices and then gradually to all those still supported by the manufacturer soon.

It is worth to mention that while Huawei awaits official communication regarding the elimination of the ban. Tim Danks, vice president of Huawei’s risk management and partnerships department spoke to the media. “Huawei has been informed of US President Trump’s statement about Huawei last weekend. We will wait for instructions from the US Department of Commerce…”. The company will no have to wait for instructions to ascertain the extent of relaxation of the ban.
