Infinix launched the Note Edge 5G in India after unveiling it globally last month. The company says this marks the first Dimensity 7100 chipset arrival in India's market. Flipkart and Infinix's store start selling it February 25. MediaTek's Dimensity 7100 allegedly scores over 750,000 on AnTuTu benchmarks.
Real-world testing verifies however whether those numbers hold up outside controlled lab conditions. RAM configurations reach 8GB using LPDDR5X memory. Storage tops out at 256GB on UFS 2.2 standards—one generation behind current flagship tech but perfectly adequate for typical usage.
Display Specs Raise Eyebrows
Screen size hits 6.78 inches using curved LTPS AMOLED technology. Resolution lands at 1.5K, probably 2400 x 1080 pixels. Refresh rate runs at 120Hz for smooth scrolling.
Peak brightness claims 4,500 nits. That number deserves serious skepticism. Most premium flagships peak around 2,000-3,000 nits maximum. Either Infinix discovered revolutionary display technology nobody else has, or marketing got extremely creative with measurement methodologies. Independent reviews will clarify the truth.
Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen from scratches and drops. Bezels measure 1.87mm thin—respectable for mid-range territory. Fingerprint authentication lives underneath the display. The 13MP selfie camera offers 82-degree field of view.
Camera Setup Stays Minimal
Rear camera configuration is deliberately simple. One 50MP main sensor at f/1.8 aperture. One LED flash. That's everything. No ultra-wide angle. No telephoto zoom. No pointless macro filler lens.
Minimalist camera arrays work better than cluttered ones filled with useless sensors. Most buyers never touch those extra lenses anyway. Video recording maxes at 2K 30fps instead of 4K, which feels dated for 2026 but handles social media posting fine.
Battery Engineering Impresses
The standout specification: 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery squeezed into a 7.2mm thick chassis. That's genuinely impressive work. Phones with batteries this large typically feel like carrying bricks. Weight sits at 190 grams depending on color choice, staying reasonable given the capacity.
Wired charging hits 45W speeds. Reverse wired charging offers 10W for topping up wireless earbuds or smartwatches.
Additional Features
Stereo speakers carry JBL branding. IR sensor enables TV and air conditioner remote control. IP65 rating protects against dust and water splashes—not full submersion though. Connectivity includes dual SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, and 5G.
Software runs Android 16-based XOS 16 from launch with AI features included, though specific capabilities weren't detailed.
Pricing Structure
Base 6GB/128GB model costs ₹21,999 (approximately $245). Middle 8GB/128GB variant runs ₹23,999 ($265). Top 8GB/256GB configuration prices at ₹25,999 ($285).
