iQOO has confirmed that it will unveil the Neo12 later this month. Luo Jiahui, product manager for the Neo series,
announced the launch in a video posted on October 9, 2026. She did not give an exact date, saying only, “See you this month.”
She also promised performance on par with the brand's Ultra models. Independent tests will show whether the phone can live up to that claim. Early leaks point to a gaming-focused device that could compete with more expensive phones. The combination of active cooling and a high-refresh-rate
display has drawn particular attention.
iQOO Neo12's Ice Dome fan aims to keep performance stable
The main new feature is an updated version of iQOO's Ice Dome cooling fan. A redesigned air channel should help remove heat during demanding games and heavy multitasking.
For gamers, sustained performance matters as much as peak speed. A phone that overheats may reduce its performance during longer sessions. However, we still don't know how loud the fan will be or how much power it will use.
According to leaker Experience More, the Neo12 will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor alongside iQOO's Q3 gaming chip. The combination should help with gaming performance, although its actual benefits remain to be tested. A leaked benchmark reportedly shows 3,827 points in single-core testing and 12,043 points in multi-core testing.
Visionox display could reach 185Hz
Leaker Whylab claims the phone will feature a flat 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate, supplied by
Visionox and using a new generation of display materials. iQOO's product manager has also said the phone will have the highest refresh rate in the brand's history.
Last year's Neo11 featured a 2K, 144Hz BOE panel. The Neo12's display is reportedly 6.83 inches across.
Other leaks point to a battery larger than 9,000mAh and 100W charging. For comparison, the Neo11 had a 7,500mAh battery. However, the display refresh rate has changed in earlier reports, with some leaks suggesting 165Hz instead of 185Hz.
Price and launch date remain unknown
iQOO has yet to announce the Neo12's price or exact launch date. Whylab also notes that rising memory prices could make pricing decisions harder for manufacturers.
The Neo11 launched last October with a starting price of 2,599 yuan, roughly $365. The Neo12 could cost more if its upgraded display and cooling system push production costs higher.
The phone is also expected to sit alongside the iQOO 16 as a flagship with a different focus. For now, the 185Hz display and active cooling are the most eye-catching rumored features. Independent tests will need to show whether the fan keeps temperatures under control and frame rates stable during long gaming sessions.
