iQOO X Concept Phone: A 15,000mAh Battery and a Glimpse at 2029's Smartphones

IQOO just unveiled a concept phone with specs so extreme it might not reach production for years! Although, to be clear, this isn't really a phone you'll be able to buy anytime soon. Now you might ask why? That's because the IQOO X has been built only as a "vision device." You could think of it as a tech demo wearing a phone suit, not a product roadmap. That's because the phone has been developed to show what flagship phones might look like in the near future.

The battery, as I previously stated, is a 15,000mAh all-solid-state battery, which has received the nickname "Blue Ice." The battery has roughly three times the capacity of a typical flagship battery today!

For reference, most of today's flagship batteries top out at around 6,000mAh, which puts it in the "not commercially viable yet" territory. I mean, solid-state battery tech at this scale simply isn't ready for mass production.

The performance is also something you shouldn't scoff at! Power comes from a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 10 Pro, which, funnily enough, doesn't exist yet in Qualcomm's actual lineup. This is paired with iQOO's own in-house gaming chip, the QX. Together, they're positioned as a serious jump over anything shipping today.

Now onto the camera. Every person with a phone knows that the camera is one of the most important factors in deciding to buy a phone.

The rear setup leans hard into imaging: a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 200MP periscope telephoto, which gives the phone three shooting modes rather than the usual one-hero-camera approach.

That's right! IQOO didn't stop at specs. They also attached a price to the phone, something brands never do with non-shipping devices. The price range is somewhere around $1,038, with configurations ranging up to $1,275.

There's no confirmed release date, and the company has been upfront that this is a vision exercise rather than a launch pipeline. But it serves as a signal of where iQOO wants to take its hardware over the next several years, one that includes massive batteries, gaming-first chips, and camera systems built around resolution.
