iQOO might be busy with the imminent release of the iQOO Neo11 series, featuring an 11S, a Pro, and an Ultra variant. The brand will also unveil the iQOO Z11 pretty soon, but the real spotlight goes to the iQOO 16 series. The brand is said to launch the new iQOO 16 on September as its next flagship smartphone.
Today, a new rumor from China emerged and suggests that the new flagship will raise the bar for display refresh rate in the lineup.

The iQOO 16 Will Feature a 165Hz 2K Display

The info comes from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, who stated that the iQOO 16 will feature a 165Hz refresh-rate screen. The handset will have a 6.85-inch OLED display from Samsung with a 2K resolution and a flat design.
For a quick comparison, the iQOO 16 from last year had the same display size, but came with "only" a 144Hz refresh rate. Yeah, I've used air quotes because this is still much more than the conventional 120Hz refresh rate that has become the norm in this market.

Some phones are playing with high refresh rates recently. Xiaomi, for example, launched its new Redmi K100 Pro and Ultra featuring whopping 185Hz displays. As a result of this race for refresh rate, we are getting smoother displays every year as a way to separate flagships from more affordable phones that already have impressive numbers.

Other Specifications Have Been Detailed

Besides the panel, the tipster also confirmed the iQOO 16 will come with the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro featuring TSMC's 2nm design.
The phone is also touted to come with an 8,500mAh battery, 100W wired charging, wireless charging, symmetrical dual speakers, an X-axis motor, and a USB 3.2 port.
Other features include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint, a dedicated graphics chip, and an IP68 or IP69 rating. The primary camera will be a 50MP OmniVision sensor.
