Earlier this week
ASUS released the
PadFone Mini in Taiwan, a 4.3-inch midrange addition to its PadFone series which can be snapped into a dock that turns it into a 7-inch tablet. Now a high-end
device by
ASUS has appeared in the AnTuTu database using the codename the
PadFone X. While nothing is official yet, it is hard to not guess that this is the internal codename for the
PadFone 3, but nothing can be ruled out.
Not everything is known about the upcoming device, but the AnTuTu
specs are pretty revealing. The
PadFone X takes advantage of the Snapdragon 800
CPU clocked at 2.2GHz,
2GB of
RAM, a screen of unknown size with an impressive 1920x1200 resolution and 16GB of on
device storage.
The AnTuTu test only lists one 5MP back facing
camera but it is possible that the
device AnTuTu tested was only a prototype and the final
camera will see a significant upgrade.
So how did the mystery
device perform? Quite well actually. It scored 35,406, which puts it above even the Octacore version of the
Samsung Galaxy S4.We will keep an eye out for more information and will pass it along as soon as it breaks.
