Gionee’s long awaited successor to the
flagship Elife E7 has been sighed in
GFXBench. The Elife E8 boasts a
2K display, and high-end Mediatek processor.
I will let you all in to a little secret, I believe I have already seen the rear of the Elife E8, but from a distance and I really wasn’t sure what I was looking at at the time. What I remember from the brief sighting is that the rear looks a little like the IUNI U3 i.e very curved, and there was a
fingerprint scanner in the rear. Not much a story on it’s own but with these latest GFXbench scores we have something to talk about.
Codenamed the Gionee GN9008, the Elife E8 has been sighed with a 2k 2560 x 1440 display, 3GB RAM, Android 5.0, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 20 mega-pixel rear and Mediatek
MT6795 chipset.
The Mediatek MT6795 is the same chip found in the HTC E9+, yet looking over the scores the Gionee flagship seems to do a little better in the scores.
Chances are that Gionee will ship the E8 with their latest version of Amigo OS, and the fact that the scores are looking good would suggest that they finally have an OS which meets the requirements of the hardware on tap.
No official word from Gionee on the release date yet, but stay tuned to GizChina for more
news.
