Lenovo launched another of their huge
battery smartphones at
MWC, here is a brief
hands on with the
Lenovo S860.
For a while now
Lenovo has recognised the need for Android
smartphones with larger batteries. Previous
Lenovo models have been successful with customers, but what they had in terms of
battery life they lacked in style and design.
The new
Lenovo S860 is finally a good looking Android phone with a large capacity
battery. The 4000mAh
battery in the S860 is so big in fact that you can use the phone as a power bank and charger other devices over USB OTG!
If you are the type of person who is out all day and needs you
battery to last days rather than hours you will appreciate the thinking behind the
Lenovo S860. In addition to the larger battery, huawei have gone for a 5.3-inch display with 720p resolution, and energy efficient 1.3Ghz quad-core MT6582 processor. To ensure you can use all the processing power the SoC offers there is also
2GB RAM on board and 16GB of internal memory.

According to Lenovo the S860 has a 3 day standby time, so if you were heading out in to the outback, a road trip or traveling in a new area, the S860 would make a wonderful companion.
Performance is what you would expect from the MT6582 processor with 2GB RAM, i.e. very good, we remain shocked by just how good this mid range chip handles everyday use and even casual gaming.
Lenovo plan to release the
Lenovo S860 in Europe and China, pricing details need to be confirmed but a
retail price of around $350 has been speculated.
