Nubia Fold Arrives With Snapdragon 8 Elite and 6,560mAh battery

Nubia is entering the category of book-like foldable smartphones with the Nubia Fold. Perhaps not the most inspired name, but this device certainly will impress with its excellent specifications, including a large battery and the brand's signature under-screen camera.

The Japanese telecom Y!mobile listed the Nubia Fold on its website, complete with the device's specifications and even the pricing in the market. So, without further ado, let's dive into the specifications of this new foldable contender.

Nubia Fold Specifications and Features

The Nubia Fold comes with an 8-inch foldable screen with 2,480 x 2,200 pixels of resolution. The external cover screen features a 6.5-inch panel with a 2,748 x 1,172 pixels resolution. Both panels come with 120Hz refresh rate, and the main panel supports split view modes for some applications.

The device measures just 5.4 mm in thickness in its unfolded slate, and it comes to 11.1 mm thick when folded. It weighs around 249 grams.

Under the hood, the device brings the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC alongside 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage. The use of this processor is likely a cost-cutting measure. After all, it would be more expensive with the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. In any case, the Snapdragon 8 Elite still offers better performance than most of the chipsets in the market. Unfortunately, having only 256 GB for a device with such capabilities wasn't the wisest choice here. Hopefully, we will get more variants in the future with more storage.

The handset runs Android 15 straight out of the box, and it comes with IP54 ingress protection against dust and water. We expect an Android 16 update to come soon.

Nubia Fold has a 50 MP main camera, which is paired with a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 5 MP macro camera. It also brings a 20 MP selfie camera, with one placed on the main display and the second on the cover screen.
