Nubia is gearing up to launch its next flagship, the Nubia Z80 Ultra. The brand says this is a phone built for people who care about photography. This model follows the Z70S Ultra, which came out earlier this year with an under-display selfie camera and a main camera designed to look like a 35mm lens. in fact, ZTE's Nubia is one of the most relevant brands investing in this technology.

Nubia Z80 Ultra Coming With a Full-Screen Design and Under-Display Camera

Nubia manager Zhang Lei says the Nubia Z80 Ultra will keep a full-screen display. There will be no notch or punch hole. The front camera will stay under the screen. Improvements should make selfies clearer and less hazy. The screen is expected to refresh at 144Hz. In gaming mode, the touch sampling can go up to 3,000Hz.

For photos, the Nubia Z80 Ultra will have a larger 1/1.55-inch ultrawide sensor. This is bigger than the 1/2.88-inch sensor in the Z70 Ultra and Z70S Ultra. It also beats many rivals, including the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Nubia wants to make sure the ultrawide camera is strong. This should help take better wide-angle shots compared to most other phones.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Huge Battery

Inside, the Z80 Ultra will use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. This processor is faster and stronger. The CPU is about 20% quicker. The GPU is 23% faster. The AI processor, called the NPU, is 37% stronger. This will enhance gaming, photography, and AI features.
The battery will also be bigger. It is expected to reach 7,100mAh. This is larger than the 6,150mAh battery in the Z70 Ultra and the 6,600mAh battery in the Z70S Ultra. A bigger battery means longer use for games, videos, and apps.

Nubia is planning to launch the Z80 Ultra in November. This makes it one of the strongest phones focused on cameras this year.
The phone will keep Nubia’s tradition of using under-screen cameras. Most other brands still use punch-hole cameras. Nubia aims to refine this technology so that it becomes commonplace in the future.
The Z80 Ultra will be a full-screen phone with strong cameras, a fast processor, and a long-lasting battery. It will appeal to individuals who enjoy photography, gaming, and seamless performance.
