Yesterday we posted that the
Elephone P6000, would ship with
Android 5.0
Lollipop, however Elephone have been in touch to tell us that this isn’t the case.
If you head to the official
Elephone P6000 product page you will see the below image, along with mention that the
64bit,
LTE phone comes with
Android 5.0 Lollipop (there are even images of lollipops on the page too!).
Elephone say that we misunderstood the details though, and the phone will only receive Android 5.0 as an OTA update sometime “soon”. Heading in to the specifications page of the phone reveals that the P6000 has Android 4.4.4 out of the box.
So we would like to say sorry to you guys for getting the details wrong, but also take this chance to ask Elephone to make their product page more clear! Perhaps add a disclaimer under the images to explain that 5.0 will come as an update?
The Elephone P6000 will be one of the first quad-core MT6732 phones to ship, and gets a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel rear camera.
