It's now become routine for leading manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, etc. to roll out '
mini' versions of their
flagship devices. Lesser known manufacturers like
Coolpad seem to have taken cue from this practice, and are trying to replicate the same.
It is the
Tegra 4 powered Coolpad
Grand which receives a younger sibling this time. The newcomer, dubbed Coolpad
Grand 4 mini, features a 4.5-inch
720p screen as opposed to its full sized brother which packs a 5.9-inch 1080p panel. Full specifications of the
phone include a 1.2GHz
quad-core Marvell 1T88
processor, GC1000 GPU, 1GB of
RAM, 16GB of ROM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front-facing camera, and a 1720mAh battery. Like most other upcoming and established
phone brands, Coolpad will be shipping the
Grand mini with their own take on the
Android OS -- CoolLife UI 5.0.
The phone gets a price tag of 1,999 Yuan ($330). Currently, the device comes only in a TD-SDCMA variant; there's no word on a WCDMA compatible version as yet.
