With excitement building around
Xiaomi’s
next generation quad-core phone’s
launch tomorrow the older dual-core M1 has been pushed from the limelight but there is still some good
news for
Xiaomi M1 fans!
The first piece of great
news is that Xiaomi are planning to drop the
price of the
Xiaomi M1 tomorrow at the
Xiaomi M2 launch in Beijing.
The
next generation quad-core, 2GB
Xiaomi M2 is expected to retail at 2599 Yuan ($408) a little more than previous reports, while a lower cost Xiaomi M1S is also expected to launch, but if you still quiet fancy getting your hands on the M1 now is the best time.
The Xiaomi M1 will receive a price drop from 1999 Yuan ($316) to an astonishing 1299 Yuan ($200) in what marks one of the largest price drops for a manufacturer upon release of their new phone.
In comparision Meizu only dropped the M9 to 1699 Yuan when the MX launched, and compared to the Xiaomi M1 the old Meizu is a comparitive dinosuar!
But what if you are one of the unluckly shoppers who have recently bought the
Xiaomi M1 for the full 1999
RMB price tag? Well not to worry as Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has announced that any Xiaomi customer in the past 2 weeks will receive a 700
RMB refund in the form cash vouchers.
We’re not sure if these vouchers can be turned to actual cash or just vouchers redeemable at Xiaomi’s online store, but either way the offer is still a generous one.
