Mediatek Quad-core MT6589 Antutu scores hit 12715!

The current crop of dual-core MT6577 phones are pretty lively devices, however the next generation quad-core MT6589 phones are going to make them look like 3 legged tortoises!

The image above claims to be of a phone undergoing tests at MediaTek's labs in Taiwan. The phone is said to be running the companies new quad-core MT6589 CPU and has managed to score an amazing Antutu score of 12715!

Earlier this year Mediatek also claimed that the quad-core MT6589 CPU would be even more cost-effective for the company to manufacture than the current dual-core solutions, which means we are going to see some very powerful Android phones launch in the next few months in the sub $180 price range!
