So the
Quad-core Xiaomi MI2 looks like it could be named the
Xiaomi M2 after all and will likely cost around 2699 Yuan similar to the
Meizu MX 4-core!
While
Chinese phone,
UI and
software brand Xiaomi might be fantastic at producing low-cost
Android phones, and have one of the best
marketing teams I've seen in
China, they are absolutely terrible at keeping things secret.
The much-anticipated next generation
Xiaomi M2 has been
leaked more times than we can keep up with the
Tegra 3 quad-core device cropping up a number of times including
here,
here and
here!
If this
leaked photo turns out to be true then the
quad-core Xiaomi will be named the M2 rather than the MI2 and will come packaged in a much more luxurious
box than the current M1 which comes in a much cooler and eco-friendly plain brown recycled cardboard
box.
Along with the leaked packaging Chinese Xiaomi website Xiaomifans is also claiming that the quad-core M2 wont be priced at 1999 Yuan but will be priced in direct competition with Meizu's MX 4-core at 2699 Yuan ($424) which is still cheaper than the K-touch quad-core we reported on here.
It seems most of the
Xiaomi M2 leaks stem from the
Foxconn factory where the
Xiaomi M2 is being manufactured, perhaps all Foxconn's security are to busy protecting the
new iPhone?
