Samsung decided to bring some Android Pie treatment to the two-year-old Galaxy J7 Nxt and J7 Pro midrange devices. The two handsets are now receiving Samsung's brand new One UI along with the latest flavor of Google's mobile operating system. The move is really surprising one time that Samsung was once plagued by the lack of proper long-term software support for devices out of its flagship spectrum.
Apparently, only select markers are receiving this first batch of Android Pie update, if you're not one of these lucky owners that are already running the latest version, then you'll probably need to wait a few days for finally tasting the new flavor. It introduces all the goodies brought by Google with Android Pie but also introduces Samsung's new software philosophy the One UI that ditches out fancy features for a more simplistic, clean and fast approach. One UI is now present in several Samsung smartphones and smartwatches to the point that it's quickly becoming an id factor among Samsung's devices.

According to reports, the Android Pie update is reaching Galaxy J7 Pro devices in Russia, Mexico, Spain, and Algeria, while the J7 Nxt owners should expect to see it rolling out in Thailand. Both devices are receiving an OTA update that weighs 1GB in size. Worth noting that this firmware update also includes Google's Security Patch from May.
It's really interesting to see Samsung's device of this age receiving the latest version of Android. If you own any of these and still isn't included in the update schedule, don't worry that it should reach all eligible devices in a few weeks.
