Reports have been floating about the dimensions of the
Samsung Galaxy S26 series. The past rumors suggested the vanilla variant would come with 149.5 x 71.6 x 7.24 mm dimensions. However, a new report from tipster
UniverseIce suggests that the device will actually be thinner, with just 6.9mm thickness. It would make the device 0.3mm thicker than the Galaxy S26.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series With Improved Sleek Design
The post also includes the
Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and
Ultra models and compares them with their
iPhone 17 series equivalents. The
Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus model will measure 7.3mm thick and weigh 191 grams, which are nearly identical to the numbers seen in the Galaxy S25+. Both the vanilla Galaxy S26 and S26+ will be 13 grams lighter and over 1mm thinner than their iPhone 17 series counterparts.
The
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will come in at 7.9mm thick and weigh 214 grams. With that in mind,
Samsung's upcoming high-tier flagship is 0.3mm thinner than the S25 Ultra and also 4 grams lighter. The difference is even more staggering if we compare it with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, where the Galaxy is 17 grams lighter and 0.85mm thinner.
Subtle Improvements in Design Will Be Noticed
These numbers are incremental but are still noticeable at the end of the day. Samsung seems to be improving the design of these devices to embrace the new trend of lightweight smartphones. It is worth noting that, as far as we know, the company is not going into the Si-C battery tech. So it is basically improving the design of its phones in the old style, perhaps like Apple, letting the components tightly fit in the phone's chassis.
While the exact launch date keeps floating, the new phones are expected for the first three months of 2026. The
Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge isn't making the final cut, or at least, not in time for the family's debut. We expect more details to appear in the coming weeks.
