The continuing censorship battle between
Google and the
Chinese government have taken on
new developments, with the
Android App store being
blocked all across
China!
This is the second time the
Android App store has been
blocked in China, the first was during 2009.
Many
Chinese Android users are increasingly frustrated by the
Chinese version of the official Android
market as it doesn't provide full access to the application stores full portfolio, and instead only offering censored or free applications for
download.
This lack of content has forced many Chinese Android users to download pirated or hacked versions of paid apps as they are left with no legal way of obtaining them.
The recent block of the Android Application market may be due to the the increased tension between the Chinese government and Google, and could be the governments way of clearing the way for new Chinese based app store services.
