Google have confirmed that their Google
Chrome web based operating system is getting special
development and feature which will make the
OS more suitable for touch
screen devices.
Chrome, which is designed to be a light weight web based
OS was originally designed for use on
netbook computers, but since the launch of the original iPad and it's (plus
Android Tablets) popularity and success, Google have decided to shift their attention from traditional computer and
netbook form factors and instead add the necessary component to
Chrome which will ally it to be used on touch
screen devices.
Some of the
new features include a virtual keyboard, with
new tab and microphone buttons, and a newly designed web browser which will automatically convert pages to allow for better use on a tablets touch
screen.
Although Google have acknowledged that Chrome will eventually run on tablets, they have also stated that development is still early and no new product is being planned.
