Google’s
Andy Rubin has come to the rescue of all those expect
consumers and
developers confirming that
Android 3.0 Honeycomb will in fact become once again
open source.
Rubin,
Vice President of Engineering at Google, said that the withdrawal of Honeycomb
source code from the
open source project is in fact a temporary measure and the code will once again be
available for
developers to download and work on just as soon as Honeycomb has been given a few necessary nips and tucks.
The main areas in which Honeycomb is getting attention is regarding it’s compatibility with smart
phones, once Google is happy that
3.0 will play nice on both phones and tablets they will
launch freely distribute the code once more.
