While the
Blackberry Playbook may have been the
first of the new breed of
business tablet it doesn't really offer the specifications business types are looking for, and the name "Playbook" try asking your general manager if you can have a 'Playbook' on the company expenses!
Fortunately for those still wanting a
tablet aimed at the business
market,
Lenovo have just launched the ThinkPad tablet. As you would expect from a
tablet aimed at the business end of the market, the Thinkpad
tablet get's a full range of connectivity options, such as
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G, so your boss can shout at you anywhere he pleases. What's more he will be able to enjoy watching you cower while he screams at you, thanks to the front facing 2 mega-pixel
camera.
The
ThinkPad tablet also gets a rather lovely rear facing 5 mega-pixel camera, and 3 in 1
SD card reader.
Under the hood we have
Android Honeycomb 3.1 running on 1Gb RAM via a 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU, plus there is a choice of either 16/32/64Gb memory options.
It's all pretty standard stuff really, apart from the screen which is a 10.1inch
IPS unit electromagnetic unit which can be used with a special
stylus.
No
news on pricing yet, but expect the
Lenovo ThinkPad business tablet to start at around
$499 rising.
