At IFA 2025 in Berlin, TECNO introduced its boldest design yet: the TECNO Slim. The new series arrives in two versions — the SPARK Slim with 4G and the POVA Slim 5G — both measuring under 6mm thick. At just 5.93mm and 5.95mm respectively, they now hold the title of the world’s slimmest curved-screen AMOLED smartphones.

TECNO Unveils Its Super-Thin Smartphone

Following the new trend of super-thin smartphones that have devices like the Galaxy S25 Edge or the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, TECNO unveiled its Slim series. Fortunately, TECNO devices aren't sacrificing battery capacity. It's a big showdown from TECNO that proves that there is technology for building thin smartphones with capable batteries, but not all brands want to use this technology.

Building such a thin phone without sacrificing strength or performance wasn’t easy. TECNO redesigned eight major components, including the battery, speaker, and even the charging connector. Using its own Honeycomb stacking method, the company managed to save internal space while still fitting in a large 5160mAh battery. The result is a sleek device that doesn’t skimp on durability. Both models come with military-grade toughness, Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, an aerospace-grade fiberglass back, and IP64 resistance against dust and water.

Powerful Performance and Premium Specs

Despite the ultra-thin build, performance hasn’t been sidelined. The 4G variant runs on MediaTek’s Helio G200, while the 5G edition steps up to the Dimensity 6400 platform for faster connectivity and smoother multitasking. TECNO also addressed heat management with a vapor chamber and advanced graphite cooling, keeping the device stable under heavy use.
The display is another highlight. Both versions pack a 1.5K curved AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 4,500 nits. That means vivid colors and sharp detail, whether indoors or under direct sunlight. Adding personality to the design, TECNO included “Mood Light” on the back. Two circular eyes animate with different lighting effects for notifications, charging, or calls, adding a playful twist to the phone.

On the software side, TECNO Slim runs the latest HiOS based on Android 15. Features include NFC support, FreeLink for device-to-device communication without a network, and AI tools for translation, writing, and photo-based problem solving.
With its blend of thin design, solid performance, and long-lasting battery, the TECNO Slim shows that style doesn’t have to mean compromise. It’s a clear signal of where smartphone engineering is heading. Fortunately, TECNO is beating the challenges for a good smartphone that does not sacrifice hardware.
