Vivo seems to be preparing another
big smartphone launch, and early leaks give us a good idea of what’s coming.
The new Vivo S50 series looks like it will mix high-end power with a stylish,
easy-to-carry design.
With stronger
cameras and a new top-tier chip, the lineup
could easily become one of the most talked-about mid-range releases this
November.
Design and Display
A
popular tipster on Weibo,
Digital Chat Station, shared that Vivo is working on
two phones. These two devices are the Vivo S50 and the smaller S50 Pro Mini.
The regular S50 is said to come with a 6.59-inch flat screen that offers a
sharp 1.5K resolution. The Pro Mini keeps that same clarity but shrinks the
display to 6.31 inches, making it a better fit for people who like compact
phones that still feel premium.
Cameras Get a Big Boost
The
real headline here is the camera setup. The S50 is rumoured to include a
periscope telephoto lens, something usually found on flagship phones. This
should mean clearer zoom shots and more detail, even from a distance.
On the front, there’s said to be a
50-megapixel selfie camera, perfect for anyone who takes a lot of
self-portraits or video calls. The Pro Mini will likely get the same 50MP front
camera, plus a triple-lens system on the back that also includes a periscope
camera.
Power and Performance
When
it comes to performance, the S50 Pro Mini might surprise people. The device is
rumoured to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 processor.
This is the same chip
that featured in Vivo’s X200 flagship from last year. That means smooth gaming,
fast multitasking, and plenty of power for everyday use.
Both phones should also feature
Vivo’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, keeping the design
sleek and modern without sacrificing convenience.
Launch Details and Competition
Vivo
is reportedly skipping the S40 name, since the number four is considered
unlucky in China. The S50 series will instead launch as the next step in the
lineup.
If the leaks are right, the new phones will arrive in November, around
the same time as the Oppo Reno 15 and Honor 500 series.
With their sharp screens, powerful
cameras, and solid performance, the Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini could be strong
contenders in the mid-range market this fall.
