Xiaomi fans are on the fence with the new look of
MIUI V6. Some might love the fresh new look while others can’t get past the iOS 7 look. But there is a new option, why not
install stock
Android Kitkat on your Xiaomi
Mi3 or
Mi4?
Owners of the current Xioami Mi4 and previous flagship Xiaomi Mi3, now have the option to install
Android 4.4 Kitkat to their
phones in stock form. The
ROM does not appear to be an official one, but instead developed by on the MIUI forums. The AOSP version of the Android ROM was compiled using the official kernel, allowing the ROM to be as stock as possible and even offering OTA (over the air) updates.
As I have a Xiaomi Mi4 lying about here, I plan to give the ROM a go myself, but anyone installing the vanilla option before I do is encouraged to report their findings here.
Thanks to Simon for the tip.
