Xiaomi is gearing up to expand its latest flagship lineup
with the arrival of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra,
and new leaks are already painting a clearer picture of what to expect.
The
company recently launched the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. But the Ultra
model, the most powerful and camera-focused model, is still pending.
Now, trusted tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has shared
fresh details about the phone’s camera hardware, hinting at major upgrades for
photography enthusiasts.
Quad-Camera Setup with a 200MP Main Sensor
DCS hinted that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come
with four camera lenses at the back. A huge 200MP main sensor and three 50MP
lenses that are expected to cover ultrawide, telephoto, and periscope zoom
shots.
The main camera is expected to offer excellent dynamic
range. It should capture more detail and contrast even in tough lighting. The periscope
lens will also introduce a new kind of optical tech.
However, Xiaomi is keeping
the exact details quiet for now. This could mean sharper long-distance shots.
Big Leap from the Previous Ultra Model
DCS claims that the 17 Ultra will mark a major step up from its
predecessor. It will be a boost both in image quality and camera performance.
The main and
periscope cameras, in particular, are getting notable hardware and software
upgrades.
If the leaks turn out to be true, Xiaomi is clearly going
after the high-end camera market again. The company will take on rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy
Ultra and Huawei’s top P-series phones.
Two Versions with Shared Camera Tech
Interestingly, DCS also revealed that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra
will come in two versions. These two versions will operate
the same camera sensors.
However, the top model will come with
some extra imaging features. This model will raise the bar for Xiaomi’s camera game. The upgrade will bring new camera modes and smart AI features.
Expected Launch Timeline
The company hasn’t officially confirmed a release date for
the 17 Ultra. But we expect that this device will launch in the coming months.
With the standard Xiaomi 17 lineup already
available, the Ultra’s debut will likely serve as the series’ grand finale.
