Xiaomi is unveiling the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in December 25 in China. That's a nice gift for Christmas when it comes to Xiaomi fans. Ahead of the release, the brand has been sharing a couple of teasers around its new camera-focused smartphone. Today, it revealed a quick hands-on video that shows more of the smartphone's design and confirms its sleek profile. In fact, the video comes to say that this is the thinnest Ultra phone ever at just 8.29mm. That may not be the most impressive number for conventional smartphones, but it certainly is for a smartphone in the Xiaomi Ultra series.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Emerged in A New Hands-On Video Showcasing Its Thin Body

For reference, the current Xiaomi 15 Ultra is 9.4mm thick, so Xiaomi managed to reduce more than 1mm in thickness compared to its predecessor. This certainly results in a smartphone that is more friendly to small and medium hands. The phone also boasts extremely narrow bezels on all sides. Xiaomi has been doing a good job when it comes to screen-to-body ratio in its smartphones, and the new device will not disappoint. In fact, the display design resembles the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. We wouldn't be surprised if the display is the same size as Xiaomi's new Pro Max flagship. The biggest difference now is in the camera department; the Ultra brings a much more advanced setup.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come in four color options: Black, White, Starry Sky, and Purple.

Xiaomi's New Camera King

According to the teasers, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come with a new 1-inch OmniVision Light Hunter 1050L Main Sensor with 50MP. It has an f/1.67 bright aperture and Leica optics. The sensor will also come with the Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) tech. This tech is composed of sensors that enhance Dynamic Range and Improve Noise Reduction. This will make the Xiaomi 17 Ultra a powerful device in low-light performance with more accurate light and shadow details, as well as less overexposure.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be quite a flagship, and we expect it to land globally after this initial launch in China.
