Sina’s Weibo iPhone App Now Comes In English Flavor!

Sina have really caught Chinese internet users attention with their micro-service Sina Weibo. The popularity isn’t just confined to Chinese users either, with many foreign users making use of the online messaging service both in China and internationally.

Sina has obviously seen the interest from foreign users as a great way to expand and possibly go global, so have updated their Weibo iPhone application with a choice of Chinese or English menus.

Gizchina News of the week

Many users are now contemplating switching from Twitter, which requires a VPN to use in China to the new English Weibo which has built in video, photo and audio posting as a more convenient social networking experience.

Unfortunately I’m now sporting an Android powered Meizu M9 and so won’t be able to make use of the English menus until an Android update is released.

Looks like Twitter’s long over due push in to China is going to be DOA!
