Meizu MX2 price cut to $277 to compete with MI2S

Not even a day after Xiaomi announced they had cut prices for the Xiaomi Mi2S, Meizu have gone on the counter attack with a Meizu MX2 price drop!

The 16GB MX2 with quad-core Samsung CPU is now priced at 1699 Yuan ($277), is available in either black or white and China Mobile or China Unicom versions and can be bought in over 500 stores across the county!

Gizchina News of the week

Meizu also reduced the 32GB model from 2799 to 2399 Yuan and the 64GB model from 3699 to 3299 Yuan.

Meizu are really hoping to tackle Xiaomi on price over the next 12 months, but are the prices cuts enough?

What about the Z5 mini? I can’t decide between the mi2s and the nubia, any opinions to help me?

Mi2S is the best for the money now, and excellent international support. Nubia is a great phone though and very different.

I have the m2s and got my wife the nubia mini πŸ™‚ both are fantastic phones. Mine cost around 370Euro and the nubia 300. Only thing noticeably better in my opinion is the camera on the Xiaomi, but the nubia did have a shutter button which is really handy. In the hand the phone seen very similar in size and quality, maybe the Xiaomi feels slightly better made, almost as if a denser material. You will not go wrong with either phone to be honest.

What are “China Mobile or China Unicom versions”?

Are they not suitable for Europe?

    • September 6, 2013

      +1 !

      • September 6, 2013

I think China Mobile refers to the TD-SCDMA variant while China Unicom, to the regular WCDMA one.

          Correct πŸ™‚
