Honor has already confirmed that its Magic9 series will launch later this month, but a new leak has now revealed what could be the lineup's most interesting model. According to a Weibo tipster (via), Honor is preparing three devices: the Honor Magic9, Honor Magic9 Pro Max, and a higher-end Magic9 Super Edition. All three phones are expected to share the same general rear camera design shown in Honor's official teasers. However, their specs could differ significantly.
Honor Magic9 Super Edition Could Pack an 11,000mAh Battery
The Honor Magic9 Super Edition is reportedly the most unusual model in the lineup. It is said to feature a 6.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate, along with a massive 11,000mAh battery. That battery would be one of the largest capacities seen on a mainstream flagship smartphone. Honor is also reportedly using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while a built-in cooling fan could help keep the chipset under control during longer gaming sessions.
The phone could also use a fiberglass body and have a single front-facing camera. On the rear, the setup is expected to include a 200MP main camera alongside 12MP and 50MP sensors. Unlike the regular Magic9, however, the Super Edition reportedly won't feature ARRI branding.
Honor Magic9 and Pro Max Take Different Approaches
The standard Honor Magic9 is said to have a smaller 6.37-inch display and an 8,000mAh battery. It could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and feature two 200MP rear cameras developed in collaboration with ARRI. The phone is also expected to have a 3D front-facing camera, suggesting that Honor will put more emphasis on biometric and depth-related features.
The Magic9 Pro Max would sit above it with a 6.8-inch display and a metal body. It could pack an 8,800mAh battery and two 200MP rear cameras. Up front, the phone is reportedly getting a 1:1 front-facing sensor alongside a 3D ToF camera. Interestingly, the Pro Max could also use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme, putting it above the other two models in terms of processing power.
