Zoposhop have announced that the white 8-core ZP998 is is available for customers to book, and are asking original preorder customers to cancel their preorders.
Over on the Official ZopoMobile Facebook page, Zopo have posted an updated to inform preorder customers what is happening and to introduce the availability of the white 8-core ZP998.
Original preorder customers asked to cancel orders
The first piece of new is that Zopo are asking all customers who originally preordered the Zp980 at $299.99 to cancel their orders. Customers should cancel their order and they will receive a full refund in 2-3 days. The move has been designed to offer customers their money back before the Paypal dispute deadline ends and to ensure all customers get their money back.
What Zopo hope customers will then do is to reorder a ZP998 8-core smartphone at the same introduction price of $299.99, and promise that all phones will be shipped by the 12 January (delivery will take 3-5 days after this date). This special price will only be available to those cancelling their original pre-order, new customers will pay $329.99.

At the same time Zopo will be offering a limited number of 600 white Zopo ZP998 phones for customers to order giving customers the chance to choose either the white or black flagship phone.

Zopo ZP998 Specifications
The Zopo ZP998 is a 5.5-inch FHD 1920 x 1080 display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built in memory, 14 mega-pixel rear camera with f2.0 aperture, dual-SIM support, micro SD card reader and new gesture controls built-in to the Zopo ROM and of course a 1.7Ghz 8-core MT6592 processor.

I’m actually surprised people are voting yes. Who’s to say when you reorder they won’t leave you high and dry on 12th especially considering the low numbers for the white one. Smart folks take their money elsewhere, for instance the new TCL is also $300.
This company seems very strange to me. I cancelled the order after they anounced that ZP998 will have only 16GB “ROM” because of strange reasons. And they offered free 16GB TF :-DDDDD They are giving unconsistent informations about shipping to other customers and now they come with this step. I don´t trust them anymore and I ordered the n003 instead
Yes, that’s sound strange that zopo reduces ROM size due to power consumption… In my opinion it isn’t the truth.
First preorder customers had to pay $299.99 and would get free gift pack. Second preorder customers had to pay $329.99 and would get free shipping. That was the reality last week.
Sorry for me language, but seems both customers got nailed. First preorder customers got to cancel their order and pay again $299.99, but get no gift pack. New customers pay $329.99 and get no free shipping.
I guess also no 16/32GB TF card :).

I was refunded yesterday. But I also opened paypal case when cancelling the order, because I just don´t trust Zopo anymore anything 🙂
Yes i did. Received 2 emails yesterday: they were about first batch orders and new customers… I ordered on 2 nd batch, therefore my comment… Am I wrong?
If you had mail, yes, they do not seem to distinguish between the two customer batches, so tough on the 2000 Black Monday customers who paid $29 more than the first 5000 , but share the same “privilege” of being badly disappointed and/or having wasted 5 / 6 weeks on the debacle.

1-when i bought it, phone was not in preorder, but freeshipping
2 – freeshipping didn’t work
3 – it became preorder and they offered gifts
4 – it changed into 16gb
5 – they accepted my request for additional battery and case
6 – now i have to start from zero and with no gifts and compensations…

Not reordering also. Haven’t got a clue how to cancel the order either as it has a status of complete. So opened the dispute in paypal instead.
Got the refund within the hour. Opening a case in paypal is the way to go so it seems

– Ordered Zopo ZP998 32GB
– Mail with info that gift package is only for paid shipping
– Mail with info that 32GB changes to 16GB with extra 16GB external card
– Mail saying I should agree or cancel but no info how to
– Contacted support several times without getting money back
– reported problem on paypal and after 1 day got the refund (finally!!!)
– ordered Google Nexus 5 32GB
– problem solved and now waiting just some days till arrival 🙂
I too will buy Nexus 5, and hopefully in 12 – 15 months time these Chinese Brands will have everything sorted for perspective customers.
I cancelled yesterday and already got my money back. It’s best to claim a dispute with paypal. Now I ordered the iNew V3, only a MTK6582 soc but it’s the best looking Chinaphone out there.
Maybe I’ll buy an octacore with 4G this summer and give the iNew to my niece. No more preorders for me.
It seems to me that the problem lays more with Mediatek that isn’t able to supply the MTK6592 as not a single company has octacores in stock.

I pre-ordered in second round (2.000 pieces),
ok for shipping costs, ok for no gifts, but when it changed in 16gb i took the chance and i replied by email for “option B” (refund 🙂 Thy called me offering me 32 gb sd card, but i refused, not sure on the engineering side of the phone anymore. Refunded in 24 hours.
I bought an imported (UK) nexus 4 at the same price. I’m happy with it, with a 4.4 kk nightly (25th dec 2013) cyagenmod on it.
