Here are the first official JiaYu F2 photos

The JiaYu F2 represents the second phone in JiaYu’s ‘F’ range of phones their first entry-level LTE device.

Jiayu are working on 2 new smartphones for launch either later this year or early in the new year. The JiaYu S3, which we saw yesterday, is their new flagship with alloy body and 64bit processor, while the JiaYu F2 will be a more affordable LTE alternative.

JiaYu had already been kind enough to share the specifications of the F2 with us earlier this year. The 5-inch phone will have a HD resolution of 720p with large 3000mAh battery and 8 mega-pixel Sony CMOS sensor.

Gizchina News of the week

The F2 won’t use a newer 64Bit Mediatek chip like its bigger brother but the more cost-effective and proven quad-core MT6582 SoC with MT6290 LTE modem. The chipset supports both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE and JiaYu have even been kind enough to give the phone 2GB RAM.

These photos show what the JiaYu F2 will look like, with an all back body and simple smooth design.

Images of the front show capacitive chin buttons and a slim alloy ‘chin’ above and below the 5-inch display.

Pricing for the phone hasn’t been confirmed but there are already listings on certain reseller sites with an asking price of just $149.99!

Yes, their hardware is really solid, but their software department is really lagging

think mt6582 is outdated. if it has 1080p display ok. but if 720p then it can’t even beat jayu g4s

Putting a 1080p panel on a mt6582 phone is a no-no, it would be a lagfest. If anything Jiayu has the common sense to build their phones balanced. But you’re right G4s is a better phone, it’s supposed to be F series is low end, G series is mid end

MTK6582 won’t support 1080p, So this is a low end phone with good specs in balance.

It’s meant to be a budget LTE phone which is why they used 6582 and 720p. For $149 it’s a pretty good deal especially since they throw in a 8mp camera and 2gb of RAM. Most phones in this price range don’t have LTE have a 540 screen, 5mp camera and 1 gb of RAM.

There is no point in 1080 on 5 inch. (At least not much). 720p is good enough.
