UMi Hammer on just $129.99 with free shipping until 26th May

umi hammer review

Remember the tough little UMi Hammer we reviewed a few weeks back? Well it is on special offer until the 26th May for only $129.99.

The UMi Hammer was the first 64bit LTE phone from UMi and is surprisingly tough too. The device comes with a quad-core chipset, 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel main camera and 5-inch HD display (the only thing missing at the moment is Android 5.0 Lollipop).

Gizchina News of the week

From today until the 26th May UMi are offering the UMi Hammer on Aliexpress for just $129.99 with free shipping. In other news UMi have also reported that some earlier models of the UMi Hammer were shipped with the wrong battery size and customers finding that their battery is smaller than specified should contact the store they bought their phone from for a free replacement.

oh man…why did Umi have to do this kind of monkey tricks?? It will give Chinese phone companies bad reputation and create distrust with potential customers =(

head to their FB page and you can read what happened. Not their fault and they are offering replacements for free.

I dt trust UMI anymore.. too many lies and problems in their history.
My next big battery phone is the Bluboo x550. I wait to see some reviews, if they r ok, i just order it…

At least they are not denying the fact about the battery and are offering to replace them for free. I’d say thumbs up to Umi for the bold gesture.

contact the reseller you bought your hammer on and ask for it

Not worth the money. This phone is useless with its 1,750mAh battery.

maybe you missed some news about it lately, the first batch has unities with 1750mah battery due to some mistakes made by battery producer (which had made 2 versions), the ones with this reduced battery will get a free replacement with the correct 2250mah one. I’m one of the luckiest to have real 2250mah on the first batch (like the user who posted the photo you can see up in the post), the others will have their own for free asking it to their seller!

how do you know? all the chinese battery company lied about capacity. they are just one of the affected company. there are other brand maybe doing it on purpose that you don’t know. at least UMI offer a replacement to make it right so in this way i dont see they are lying on purpose

The problem with the battery is true, but also some people have the true capacity of 2250mAh:

So I have almost sure, Umi should be using more than one Battery supplier for the Hammer, and one of them are selling fake batteries. Btw if this is the case also shows that production control or final research on the products need to be improved before distribution.

i have a whole different problem with my hammer… cell reception is bad where it shouldn’t be (at least it is not for every other phone i or friends have.) which eats my battery.
cell standby of 30-40 percent is “normal” and waaaaayyy too much for my taste. anyone can help me?
