The newly announced Oukitel U10 features a metal body and fingerprint sensor

Fresh off the heels of their Black Bull and Oukitel U9 announcements, Oukitel have now announced the Oukitel U10, a slim metal phone with the usual Chinese flagship specs. The design of the device reminds me of a Samsung Galaxy S3 mixed with Huawei’s Honor 7, which isn’t that bad to be honest.

The Oukitel U10 will be powered by the MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz octa core processor, along with the standard 3GB/16GB combo of RAM/ROM and expandable memory. It’ll also have a fingerprint scanner like the rest of the crowd, as well as a 13 mega-pixel Samsung 3M2 main camera with a dual LED flash and a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera. The display is a JDI OGS unit with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p, and the battery is a decent 2850mAh with fast charging capabilities.

The device will have dual sim slots, one of those slots being a hybrid slot that can also be used for a microSD card. It’ll run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop just like every other flagship Chinese phone. The Oukitel U10 will be available in either White and Gold or Black and Space Grey, for a decent price of $160. No word on when the device will go on sale though, so stay tuned for more.

The U10 is up for presale now for $160.

I just regret that all manufacturers started to put less performace MT6753 instead of powerful for money MT6752

A sad truth. They are doing more damage to their profit by implementing inferior SoC, than saving a few bucks more for the final cost that most people could afford anyway.

What about notification led and corning gorilla glass? Almost every day some new “Chinese flagship” phone is being unveiled, but as far as I can notice, unfortunately none of them has these two for a long time basic features. (Umi Iron, Ulefone Be Touch 2, Oukitel U10, Elephone…). Actually, the only phone with both features could be Letv one, but there are issues with the ota update if you get a multi language version with the Google play.

Be Touch 2 has gorilla glass 3.

The only ‘perfect’ phone I’ve seen with all those features is Jiayu S3. Too bad that the screen doesn’t seem to be that good and err, no fingerprint ID (actually a plus for me).

Why did they omit the WCDMA 850Nhz? It makes the phone obsolete for North America. Same thing with the UMI Iron which looks amazing.

More impressive is what IS NOT MENTIONED !!

In the final version, will it have USB3 or USB Type -C? The photos on their official web site carefully hides the view of the USB socket at the bottom edge of the phone.

The protruding back-camera unit usually hold OIS. Will it be standard, or better? Will it have HDR, with auto-focus & fixed-focus whilst both still-camera & video-camera?

Generally, if it has replaceable battery, inbuilt QI wireless charging, OTA, OTG USB, … these are promised by the manufacturers publicity machines. Given the low introductory price, these bonus features will not YET be offered in this model of this phone. I expect these features will instead be available on the follow-ons models, but at higher prices.

My turn-off is the screen size. Five inch diagonal are my limit, those Samsung’s 5.2 inches with narrow bezels makes it smaller than my China-branded five inch phones.
