You can now flash CyanogenMod 12.1 on the Elephone Trunk!

Good news for Elephone Trunk owners is that you can now flash a community build of CyanogenMod 12.1 on your smartphones.

The Trunk is known as Elephone’s first ever Snapdragon phone, and after a couple of months on the market, the device is starting to get some serious community support.

Instructions on how to download and install the ROM can be found over at the Elephone forums, but let me put them here for convenience’s sake.

How to flash CyanogenMod 12.1 on your Elephone Trunk

Here are the step you need to follow to get CyanogenMod 12.1 on your Elephone Trunk:
1. Root your Trunk
2. Install TWRP 2.8.7.1 (Using Rashr or Flashify)
3. Copy the rom.zip and the GAPPS.zip in your phone memory or SD card.
4. Boot to TWRP (power & vol+)
5. Wipe – Factory reset
6. Install rom.zip
7. Install GAPPS.zip
8. Reboot, enjoy!

As usual, there are a few bugs with the ROM including a not-so-optimised camera. Other bugs can be found in the forum thread.

Great news. I just got my Trunk today. So far it looks great.
There is also CM13 alpha on XDA. This will be a great phone with many custom ROMs.

Not much of a surprise. It’s a compelling lo budget device after all (as mentioned a lot of times).
