Elephone announces special flash sale, phones going from $12.12

Elephone (everyone’s favourite!) have announced that they will be having flash sales on the 12th, 16th, 17th and 18th of December, with devices such as the Elephone P8000, P6000 Pro, M2, S2 and S2 Plus going on sale for as low as $12.12 (Because 12th December, geddit?).

Gizchina News of the week

Elephone have yet to fully announce the details of this flash sale, so we still don’t know if there what other devices will be offered, if any at all. We’d also don’t know if smartphones are going to be the only devices going on sale, since Elephone also has a large number of other gadgets like e-cigars, action cameras and smartwatches.

What do you think about this sale? Are you looking forward to it, or would you prefer to have Elephone launch the Vowney before announcing more news? Tell us down in the comments below.

It could be interesting… If only those flash sales weren’t total BS where no one ever has been able to actually take anything for that price…

It could be an advertising stunt with real sales at $12.12, or they are going to get people to pay full price and some customers will later be told they get the special price, also a stunt. The other alternative is they are overstocked and need to recoup raw material costs.

I would probably like to get my hands on a P8000 and work on putting Ubuntu Touch on it.

ELEPHONE free publicity, they won’t actually send the items, just making sure their brand is known, they ripped off a lot of people, are still posting 16 cores on their phones with Mali T760 even though they have actually only 2 cores, DON’T TRUST THEM!

Just had a look that news that Ulefone released updates. And Elephone, can you do it just once? Don’t take OTA as empty promise, otherwise you’ll pay for that.

Three times the same text? Its clearly some kind of spam by elephone’s competitors. Shouldnt it get deleted?

Btw. I wonder the quantities. There are already details at some shops and its quite clear getting the phone for $12 is a nonsense but what about the second batch? M2 for $97. I would give it a shot probably even If I wanted to wait for M3 with P10.

You could see this happening. They had thousands of view hits on the 12.12 news. Self inflicted DoS.

Mind you they crashed the whole Geekbuying site, so they must be loosing sales for other products.

Advertise a promotion, get attention, bring servers down for promotion, profit…Thats why I cant respect the Chinese…their business practices are just too dishonest. I mean some guy from my country recently ordered a large shipment of some CNC made parts and received a truck full of bags with stones 😀

…and to think most Chinese use IIS servers (Microsoft). Crazy.

IIS isnt that bad in fact. I have recently messed a little with it and ASP .NET and in a small scale e.g. corporate internal workflow site it was doing its job. For a large internet site though…that event log would give me nightmares 😀

I once ordered bathroom tiles and when I got them they were all smashed up. $15 for tiles which was a bargain, $250 for shipping. Not sure if they were like that before post, or crappy UPS courier ruined them. UPS refused to compensate and they compartmentalised the responsibility so to sue I’d had to sue the Chinese UPS outlet. Never will use UPS again.

Unless there were server tricks I don’t think anyone got a chance to see a sales profile to even buy. I attempted to refresh pages and never saw any changes in ability to purchase. No add-to-cart or submit buttons.

Truly I though they would sell but be getting rid of returned stock or refurbished items. It seems it was a failed sale or deliberate scam.
