ZTE Blade D2 with 4000mAh battery announced

A new ZTE phone in the form of the Blade D2 was found to have been listed on the company’s Thailand and Vietnam websites.

The phone joins the Blade V7 and the V7 Lite that were shown off at this year’s MWC a few weeks back. The Blade D2 is another one of the big battery phones we’ve been witnessing of late.

And like most other affordable battery phones, the Blade D2 too is powered by the very power efficient MediaTek MT6735 series chipset (MT6735P to be precise).

Let’s take a quick look at the specifications on offer here.

ZTE Blade D2 Specifications:

Gizchina News of the week

  • 5-inch 1280 x 720p display
  • 1.3GHz quad-core MT6735P processor
  • 5 mega-pixel rear camera
  • 2 mega-pixel front-facing camera
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB on-board ROM
  • 4000mAh battery

To make the most out of what’s on offer, buyers can use the device as a power bank thanks to the reverse charging feature it has on offer.

In Vietnam, the Blade D2 has been priced at VND 2,690,000 which looks like a lot of money at first, but translates to $120 roughly.

There’s no word on availability outside Vietnam and Thailand at the moment.

Sick of these mediocre phones with last year’s SoC’s, The Zopo Speed 8 the only flag ship meeting schedules. The snapdragon 820 will dent Mediatek if they don’t start throwing X20’s at Chinese phone makers.

6735 is still a good budget SoC for a $120 phone.

It maybe but I’m after a Chinese flag ship phone that isn’t priced at Western prices.

So why are you commenting and complaining about a $120 phone? It isn’t meant or marketed as a flagship. The budget segment is the most important segment for Chinese phones. They sell more budget phones than any other segment.

There’s plenty of those phones you are looking for on this site from brands like Xiaomi, Meizu, OnePlus, Zuk and a few others.

Because nearly every phone in the past few months has been a doozy piece of trash. China is quite capable of making Mediatek X20 or other frontline SoC’s based phones. They bring out these mediocre phones and think people will be excited about them – I don’t think they are.

I’m keeping an eye out on them. If they get released under the $400 USD price tag with the expected base quality components, then I will probably buy.

If I buy a phone one of the stipulations I have it that it can’t be locked down. …so Xiaomi has lost themselves all sales from me..

I’d probably get a Meizu 6 Pro when it comes out if it has video-over-usb or other video output. Mainly for Ubuntu possibilities.

I bought zte v5 pro (n939sc) and the battery should be 3000mah and good , but even a 2000mah better

As far as I remember, the ‘P’ version of this chipset is only clocked at 1GHz, not 1.3! That makes big difference.
