Part 3 Zopo ZP900 Leader Review: Design, Apps and Video!

Zopo ZP900 Performance

If you didn’t already know the Zopo ZP900 Leader has a dual-core MTK MT6577 cpu with 1GB ram and although I haven’t had chance to run many games on the phone I have installed AnTuTu and Quadrant to see how the Leader scores;

zopo zp900 leader review antutu test

On AnTuTu Benchmark v2.9 the Zopo ZP900 Leader scored 5230.

zopo zp900 leader review quadrant test

The Quadrant Benchmark score for the Zopo ZP900 Leader is 2651.

I’ll get some good games loaded up on to the Zopo ZP900 as soon as I can (not this weekend though guys) and will let you know how the ZP900 is under a gaming load and if it gets hot or not.

Zopo ZP900 Leader Video Capture and low light photos

Gizchina News of the week

While the ZP900 Leader’s 8 mega-pixel rear camera captures good images in the sunlight, when things get darker the photo quality is drastically reduced. You have to ensure you have an extremely steady hand a a very still subject to obtain good low light results!

zopo zp900 leader low light photo with flash

The ZP900 Leader is equipped with a dual LED flash on the back, which in theory should improve image quality, however it actually makes things a lot worse and gives a very washed out, over exposed photo.

I also captured a bit of video on the ZP900 Leader in both daylight and nighttime conditions, again the daylight quality is good while the low light video isn’t all that great.

You can see the video sample from the Zopo ZP900 Leader below

That’s all for part 3 of the Zopo ZP900 Leader review. Part 4 should cover anything which I have missed including a hands on video, but best of all, part 4 is when I’ll be giving details of how you can win the Zopo ZP900 Leader in the first ever Gizchina giveaway!

If you can’t wait for the competition and you want to buy a Zopo ZP900 Leader now, head over to Zopomobileshop.com who were kind enough to send us our review model.

Good work. The video wasn’t great when zoomed in but it was in lower light. Shame about the lack of focus in video. Great to see the play store works. Is this phone rooted? If it is does it give you the access you’d expect?

    Have a great weekend.

The Lenovo K860 blows this away but you have to pay more for it.

Thank you for including the list of installed apps! It is good to see that Play Store, Google Maps and Google Talk are installed by default. The more I see this phone the more I want it!

    Hi Andy,
Thank you for greate review. Could you please check if some other headphones work well with zp900. I mean if audio input jack is standart or not.
    Thanks again!

@el Pablo yep no problem 🙂

Nice review review Andy. About the video test, good choice of different situations, travelling, pan, day and night, although the video is in 480p is quite good.
My question is what are the high settings for video recording, and is possible for you to upload the video in HD?

@droid booster, had a k860 in my hand today along a MI1s and i like the feel. If its always bout the best cpu and gpu u ll either never buy a phone or buy a new one quarterly…. not exactly my choice.

anyway, i like the zopo and k860 so i ll see when samsung comes up with a price and date for note 2

@Andi, any chance you could show us how to root this phone?

    Cheers

@el Pablo Tried a few different headphones I had and there was no issue with the sound (if that’s what you are looking for) and yeah, the audio input jack is standard.

    Hello,
Thank you very much for your review! I’d like to ask only a few things..
Does the ZP900 play videos FLAWLESSLY? ‘Cause some time ago I had a Zenithink c71 tablet with an AllWinner A10 chipset and flash videos had lots of lag…
The second thing is: Does the battery meter show REALLY how much battery is left? Because on the same tablet I mentioned before, the system only measured voltage, so if I turned the screen brightness to maximum the battery meter would instantly fall down by 20 %… And I don’t think it’s normal….

Thank you again for your efforts on reviewing zopo products and I hope to get an answer from you!
    Regards
    Gabriel

Isn’t the Hero 9500+ the exact same phone without the Zopo branding? And also almost $100 cheaper! (If you go by the prices on the Zopomobile site)
