Mlais MX58t Pro with Turbo quad-core MT6589T chip launched this weekend

Chinese phone maker Mlais have jumped ahead of the competition and have managed to launch their Turbo version of the quad-core Mlais MX58 Pro this weekend.

The original version of the MX58t is a quad-core, 1080 phone with 1GB RAM, and impressive camera specifications, which held a passing resemblance with the 5-inch HTC Butterfly. The updated Turbo version builds on that solid hardware but adds the faster 1.5Ghz Mediatek MT6589T processor in to the mix!

Gizchina News of the week

Sales of the Mlais MX58t Pro started yesterday (25th May) here in China with early adopters of the phone receiving a special introduction price of 1099 Yuan ($180). A full production run is scheduled for late May with more units being available from June 5th at the slightly higher price of 1199 Yuan ($195).

The Mlais MX58t Pro boasts a 5-inch 1080 OGS display, 1GB RAM, 1.5Ghz quad-core CPU, GPS, WiFi, 12 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front along with a 2500mAh.

This new company manage to produce 6589T version phone. But big names like umi not able to get a single piece of turbo chip. There is a big question mark on the planning of these companies.

Indeed! I am frothing at the bit to get one of these. Any idea which carriers it would work on in Canada and/or how I could check that?!

Great news though…this is the phone I am after. GizChina has turned me into a Chinese cell phone aficionado!

After looking at Mediatek’s website it appears that there’s no mention of a 6589T: As far as I can see, there’s only a MT 6589 and that’s it.
Can we conclude that the 6589T is only an overclocked 6589? If yes, then are these companies supposed to charge more for basically the very same processor?
Would be more than happy to have anyone’s input.

Not exactly. The GPU is also overclocked in tandem, and the processor is now optimized for 2gigs of ram where the original was not. 2500 higher score on an tutu. (About 14 500 now) I will happily take the sgx 544mp at 357mhz over 286 which is critical for smoothness on 1080p
